Downeast Wind Public Meeting

Downeast Wind, LLC is holding a public informational meeting in connection with its proposed Downeast Wind project. The Downeast Wind project is a 126 MW wind energy development located in the Town of Columbia and the unorganized areas of MD T18, MD T19 and MD T24, in Washington County, Maine. The Project will include up to 30 wind turbines and associated infrastructure, including an operations and maintenance building, collector and transmission lines, access roads, crane paths, and construction laydown areas.
The public informational meeting will be held at the Town of Columbia Town Hall, 106 Epping Road, Columbia, Maine, on December 19, 2019, starting at 6:00 P.M. The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public of the project and its anticipated environmental impacts, and to educate the public about opportunities for public comment on the project.
Downeast Wind expects to submit applications to the Maine Department of Environmental Protection in February, 2020 pursuant to the Site Location of Development law, 38 M.R.S. §§ 481-489(E), the Natural Resources Protection Act, 38 M.R.S. §§ 480-A et seq. and, the Maine Wind Energy Act, 35-A M.R.S. §§ 3401-3459.
